Xyea is implemented as a multi-tier web application based on proven and secure Microsoft technology, including SQL Server 2008, Internet Information Services 7.0, Windows Server 2008, and .Net Framework 3.5.
The Xyea solution is implemented as an ASP.Net application that uses ADO.Net to interact with a SQL Server database.
Because the Xyea solution is based on widely used components and international standards such as XML, integration with other systems is very straightforward. With SQL Server Integration Services, it is possible to quickly and easily import data, thereby enabling the creation of an integrated compliance system that is automatically updated with information from other line-of-business applications.
Functional architecture
The Xyea system is implemented as a set of modules that can be combined together to deliver a compliance solution tailored to the requirements of individual customers.
The management dashboard is the “home page” of the Xyea system. It communicates a summary of organizational compliance levels and highlights key exposure areas based on data from individual modules or collated across all modules.
The system architecture is underpinned by a common services layer that provides basic features used by all of the modules in the Xyea system, as follows:
- Alerting
- Attachment and linking of documents and other files
- User management and authentication
- Screen, field, and label customization
- Approval and signoff
- E-mail management
- Tracking when items are read
- Assignment and delegation of tasks and actions
